Turner’s mums

Hi

Just after a bit of advice from those who have gone on to have babies after TFMR due to Turner’s syndrome. I know the care probably differs depending on where you live but just wanted to see what the norm is with Turner’s being none genetic.

Basically I had a TFMR in July at 14+2, I was under fetal medicine after they noticed the increased NT on my 12 week scan. The consultant who looked after me told me I could be referred back to her for future pregnancies and she would offer me an early reassurance scan.

Fast forward to now and I’m lucky enough to be pregnant again and currently 8+2. I’ve seen the midwife twice for booking in appointments (not sure why it was in two stages). She told me she would refer me back to fetal medicine, although my original consultant is in maternity leave so it would be one of the other doctors. She booked me in for my 12 week scan which appears to be with a normal sonographer, this is on the 22nd Feb at 13:00. Today I’ve received another letter for the same date but at 13:30 with obstetrics. I’m not sure what this appointment is for? It looks as though I won’t be scanned by fetal medicine but in the normal part, then go to see someone afterwards? I’m really confused.

Where I live I can’t contact fetal medicine direct and I’m supposed to go through my midwife. Do you think it’s worth ringing her or does this sound about right? I know with Turners being none genetic I shouldn’t be at any further risk than anyone else, so maybe they are treating me as normal. But I’m not really sure what to expect.

Thanks in advance x
