Today we had a 6 week scan done, I had one done last week but we couldn’t see much and they were concerned over free fluid,
Today no fluid was seen and there was a tiny little flickering heartbeat
Our tfmr baby was diagnosed with HLHS and CDH
Today as the sonographer brought the tiny little sac into view and we seen the flicker my Oh immediately shouted “its moving” the sonographer asked “do you know what that is” my oh burst into tears and said “it’s a little heart beat”
What a truly emotional moment 😢 he was like a child opening that one Christmas gift they wanted so badly for years!
Our sonographer was so lovely we chatted to her for a while after the scan and we explained what happened last time and she quickly asked “was this just last year ?” We said yes and she then told us that she knew all about us and about our baby because what our baby had (the two major conditions) plus her heart was on the wrong side of her body and flipped the wrong way around was so unique they used our scan photos and shared them with all the sonographers in that hospital and they discussed Everything that they could see from the photos.
I said to my oh that I find it so weird that they all know of us but don’t actually know us but that I also find it comforting that anytime it will be mentioned they will in a way know who we are. as soon as the sonographer today clicked who we were she was almost in tears and said she was so beyond happy to be the one who was with us today when we got to see that tiny little flicker for the first time and knowing just how much that moment meant to us! 💕💖
