This is my first post on the Rainbows board - agh! So happy to be here finally, it's been a long year waiting!
I got my BFP last week and am 5 weeks tomorrow. I am now wondering whether I should book myself in for some early reassurance scans?
I had a dreadful experience with my angel at the local fetal medicine unit - first they sent me away with a false negative ("everything's fine!") after being referred there for heart abnormalities picked up at the 20 week scan (thankfully we got a third opinion from the fetal cardiac specialists at Evelina's in London); then at my termination they gave me the wrong drugs so the induction took 24 hours longer than it was meant to.
Anyhow - my consultant promised us that next time I got pregnant, I should call them straight away and they would see me for early scans as often as I wanted (every week if that made me more comfortable!) from 6-7 weeks.
So I called them on Friday and they have said the earliest scan I can have is at 12 weeks. If I want any earlier then I have to arrange through my GP.
I'm a bit pissed off about this, as after all they put us through last time, I think it's the least they can do?
Should I push for an early scan, or should I just relax and take comfort in the fact they think everything will be fine?? And do I even want to go back to them for "reassurance"? Help, baby-brain overload!
