Hi everyone
being pregnant is an extremely personal issue for me as this is my 4th pregnancy yet i have no children at home. I had a horrific ending to my last two pregnancies, all of my colleagues at work are well aware of my situation asboth times i was in the later stages of pregnancy and the obligatory pregnancy email announcement had been sent months beforehand.
You'd expect people to be sensitive and tread carefully when broaching the subject with me but to my dismay i have encountered numerous upsets whereby co workers have been terribly rude, insensitive and generally dumb. I have never willingly brought up the subkect of my angel babies as they mean so much to me and the pain is still so raw that i cannot handle talking about them in any capacity unless i am with family or my partner.
anyway, im now 6 months along and people are beginning to guess that i am pregnant again. I spoke with my manager this morning and we decided the best thing to do in order to avoid any further gossiping or off the cuff remarks about my weight is to confront the issue by sending an emailing annoucing my pregnancy,
i want to send something along the lines of: "After much speculation i am pleased to announce i am 24 weeks pregnant. As i am sure you can imaginethis is a very emotional and sensitivetime for me so would appreciate it you could bare this in mind . You will be glad to know that my baby is well and healthy and all going to planI willbe due in march. I'd like us all to celebrate with some cakes so help yourselves".
does that sound ok? (without sounding rude) I want to make sure people understand that i am not open to discussing my previous losses.
It's just that i have had things said to me in the past that have hurt me deeply regarding my angels and the worst culprit sits opposit me :( really this email will be directed ather and a few other nob heads that have offended me in the past, i am sure the vast majority of peopleat workwill be lovely and congratulating.
If you could reword it what would you say? Thanks for any advice x
