Hello ladies, seems like a lifetime ago now but our beautiful rainbow boy, Fen Thomas *surname* arrived ahead of schedule on Saturday 9 April, weighing 7lb 1oz 💙
I was booked in for an induction on Saturday at 4pm at 37+1 due to having obstetric cholestasis. Went for a sweep on the Thursday to see how favourable I was and they were sure I would need to go through the full induction process.
Sweep seemed to have done nothing but on Friday night at 11:30pm I woke feeling wet and my waters were constantly dribbling, no mad gush. By 1am I was having contractions lasting 45 seconds every 3 mins so rang pau for advice & they told me to come in to assess me.
So dropped our little boy at my mams & went in but I was only 1cm still and cervix wasn't visible (?) so they sent me home telling me to come back as planned at 4pm unless pain became unmanageable.
So headed home disappointed and watched some to for an hour then I decided to get in the bath. It was at that moment that everything suddenly kicked off...contractions came on super strong and super painful to the point I didn't think I could get out of the bath...shouted for hubby as couldn't move off bathroom floor and was certain baby was coming there and then!
Cue panic by hubby who was determined we were getting to hospital...had the quickest drive ever to hospital, in complete agony, waters gushing all over hospital corridors!! Got straight into labour room at 5:55am, told too later for epidural and to push if I felt the need. After about 15 mins of pushing, our boy arrived at 06:31am!!
Placenta took a bit more time to deliver but came away eventually and 2nd degree tear that they fixed there and then but otherwise absolutely perfect. Had hoped to go home 6 hours later but they kept us in to monitor Fenns breathing as he was a bit groany which seems to have cleared now & he's a little jaundice but otherwise absolutely perfect and we're loving him being here 💙💙💙
