Our lovely daughter, Emmeline Pearl, was born yesterday at 12.25pm, weighing 7lb 11oz.
I was due to be induced yesterday, but went into labour naturally at 2am. We arrived at hospital at 4.30am when i was 4cm dilated,and I started using the pool at 8.45am when I was 6cm. The pool was amazing but unfortunately slowed things down, so the midwife suggested breaking my waters at 10.45am. Unfortunately, the waters contained meconium, so I was monitored for the last hour and a half of labour to make sure my baby wasn't in distress and a paediatrician was in attendance when she was born. This last part was really hard - I was worried about Emmeline and the contractions were eye watering, but I did progress very quickly. The pushing stage only took a few minutes and she entered the world with an enormous cry, which was a huge relief. We had to stay in hospital overnight for precautionary monitoring but everything is fine. We're all so besotted with Emmeline - she's just magic.
