Hi ladies
I had my NIPT bloods drawn today, plus a fairly detailed (but not nuchal) scan.
The radiographer finished the scan and then left the room saying she needed to talk to the doctor...as you can imagine that left me thinking there was something catastrophically wrong but apparently it all looks okay.
I really struggled during the scan. They went so far as to do 3D images similar to what you can get for the later scans. I just couldn't look and when I looked I cried.
I don't know why but they weren't happy tears.
I guess I feel that it's not right for them to be doing 3D pictures of something that is only 5cm long and is so far from being a baby in my mind.
I was so worried about the genetic counsellor saying stupid things but she was lovely to talk to. I was just so glad she didn't get that look of horror people get when you tell them the story.
She gave me the number of a midwife who apparently works with women who are having pregnancies after loss.
Is this something anyone else has done, gotten extra support? Would love to hear ideas about what worked/didn't work.
Thanks, sorry for the long post.
Xo
