I went to my actual birth choices appointment yesterday with a lovely midwife at the hospital and she really made me feel like I could go for a vbac which I thought I was too scared to do!
They have put my mind at ease about things, especially the fact that, if i don't progress within a couple of hours of full on contractions they are happier to just bail and go for an early section than carry on and increase the risk for the scar. They are also able to let me move around whilst being monitored - in fact they actively encourage it! And I can change my mind about my choices at any time. The main thing is that they want to finally give me a positive birth experience! I still need to sort a few anxiety issues in my head and also put DS's first day of school out of my mind to focus on getting this little one safely I to the world. I know DS will be so okay on his first day - three taster sessions already and he runs in all excited so if daddy or granny have to take him that will be fine. I will just have to leave lots of instructions!
I am so lucky with our local hospital. They have their dippy moments, but the support the midwife and consultant team have given me up there has been amazing.
