So we had our CUB screening on Friday which was showing an NT of 1.5mm. A really good start, but I couldn't be sure until we got our full results back. Just heard that the chance of baby having Down's is 1:6939!!! Can't believe it. Last time we had to have an amnio as baby was clearly poorly (cystic hygroma) and I had just assumed we would have to have an amnio this time too. I have a good feeling about this pregnancy but didn't think for a minute our risk would come back that low. We won't have an amnio now - I wouldn't take the risk with such low odds of there being a problem to diagnose.
It still feels like early days, of course, and there are still many worries to come. But this is a huge milestone and the closest I've come to believing we might get our take home baby!!
